A day in the Life of a Liftie

In October 2016, I quit my job and moved half way across the world to chase a Northern Hemisphere winter in Whistler, B.C. I don't think I anticipated just what I was getting myself into. I worked for 6 months straight, waking up at 530am, snowboarding in the dark to work and enduring a brutal winter of over 12 meters of snow and at one stage, 25 days without seeing the sun.

It sounds pretty gloomy, but I would go as far as to say it was the best 6 months of my life. I worked outside every day as a Lift Operator for Whistler Blackcomb and decided I would make an edit that encapsulated a typical 'Day in the Life of' from my perspective. This included early morning SkiDoo rides up the mountain, building mazes, line checks, fresh lines, a shit load shovelling and dealing with record breaking crowds. Whistler Blackcomb picked up my video and shared it to their wider Facebook audience which eventually attracted over 35K views.
